Tora! Tora! Tora!

A recreation of the attack on Pearl Harbor, flown with replica Japanese aircraft originally built as movie props for the 1970 film of the same name and donated to the Commemorative Air Force in 1972. The CAF’s Gulf Coast Wing built a full airshow act around them, debuting at the Galveston Air Show that June — making it the longest continuously-running civilian airshow act in the country.

The performance combines low passes and ground pyrotechnics to stage roughly eighteen minutes of the attack as a piece of living history rather than pure aerobatics. It’s toured internationally and picked up ICAS’s Art Scholl Award for Showmanship along the way.
