Originally stood up in 2016 as the F-35 Heritage Flight Team at Luke AFB, Arizona, the unit became a full demonstration team in 2018 and relocated to the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, starting with the 2020 season — joining Air Combat Command’s roster of fighter demo teams alongside the F-16 and F-22 acts.
The roughly dozen-person team flies a single F-35A Lightning II, using the jet’s high thrust-to-weight ratio for a steep, fast-paced display built around recruiting and public outreach for the Air Force’s newest frontline fighter.
